Cooperation with schools

Sports clubs and other children's institutions are invited to help the schools with their competition challenge. They can also take part separately or with other partners.

The following suggestions are merely basic ideas. Imagination knows no borders. Our common aim is to increase the children's time of activity, and to make sure they enjoy physical exercise and sports. We also aim to build upon the positive role played by sport, extending it from the individual and social development of children to the way we live together in Europe.

Recording "Times of activity"
Teachers and coaches encourage the children to take part in the competition, support them in their lessons, and help them to record their individual times of activity.
Special activities
Together with the schools, special activities will be organised, e.g. a school trip (hiking) and/or a special "project" day. The common theme is "activity". The activities could include orienteering, climbing, educational games, in-line skating, etc.
European sport festivals
Organisations will participate together in a 'virtual' European sport festival (see "Ideas for activities").
"Europe" Day
On 5 May, "Europe" Day, a sports festival will be organised for everyone to take part in.
The festival will concentrate on historical activities in the European partner countries: European folk dancing, etc.

Special Activity Programme

Special programmes can help to increase the activity of children and teenagers. Sports clubs, for example, might be able to offer additional classes and "activities" during the weeks of the competition - and youth clubs could organise an extra afternoon of activities and games.
Schools and boarding schools will also perhaps take up some of these offers.

Europe - Partnership

Sport festivals with European partners
Sport festivals with your European partners are all about competitions for children and teenagers - ask your local school to support you.

"European" activities in the school holidays
In the context of holiday games and trips, clubs can organise 'virtual' and real activities with their European partner clubs and/or support activities organised by schools.
