Panscherltreiben
How it works
The "Panscherl" is a piece of wood.
Every child has a stick and digs a small hole
in the ground. One child is the "Panscherltreiber"
or panscherl driver, who tries to drive the piece
of wood into one of the holes. The other children
try to defend the holes with their sticks.
Zur Suppe, zur Suppe, die Knödel sind
heiss (The soup is ready, the dumplings are hot)
How it works
The children stand in a circle around the ball,
while saying the above spell. The game leader
calls out the name of one of the children. That
child then has to grab the ball, while the other
children have to run away. If the child with the
ball manages to throw it at another child and
hits him or her, the child who was hit will be
the game leader in the next round.
