What's inside which food?

Carbohydrates: Grain products, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, rice, fruit and salad contain a lot of carbohydrates, but are low in calories. Carbohydrates are a quick source of energy for your body.

Protein: Protein is an essential part of your daily diet. It is contained in vegetable products (such as potatoes, grains and soya) as well as in animal products (such as meat, fish, milk and eggs).

Fat: Fat is an important factor in making food tasty, but it contains a lot of calories. Fat is often hidden in our food in great quantities, for example in sausages, cheese or chocolate spread.

Vitamins and minerals: Different quantities of these can be found in all foods, for example fruit, bread, muesli, meat, fish or milk. Therefore, you don't have to eat the same things all the time!

Drinks: Drinking enough liquid is an essential part of a well-balanced diet. Healthy drinks are mineral water, fruit juice spritzers or herbal teas. For your daily intake of calcium, which is an important factor in the development of your bones, one glass of milk should be enough.
